Facepunch announced the console port back in 2019 before the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X entered the market. Sadly, Facepunch hasn't announced a next-gen version of Rust just yet. Lucky gamers will receive the beta’s access key, giving them a peek inside the innovative console port. Players can apply for the beta through Rust's website, where Facepunch will randomly select players until March 29th. Facepunch is already accepting applicants for its closed console beta. Originally set for a 2020 release, Covid-19 restricts and transiting to at-home work environment caused some hiccups in development, forcing Facepunch Studios to delay the game into the second part of 2021. The game will hit both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One sometime this spring. Survival fans won't have to wait too much longer for Rust's highly anticipated console debut.
